Frito-Lay Donates $50,000
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS – JUNE 7, 2010 – The Arts of Collin County has received a $50,000 donation from Frito- Lay North America, the $13 billion convenient foods business unit of PepsiCo. Frito-Lay has an office located within the Legacy Business Park in Plano, TX with more than 4,000 employees in the North Texas area.
This gift adds validation of the important economic impact potential of the Arts of Collin County. An important benefit to local corporations is how the Arts of Collin County will enhance the quality of life offering companies can provide as a recruitment tool to attract the best, brightest and most creative talent. In addition, the Arts of Collin County will provide a venue for performance and exposure to the arts for more than 50,000 fine arts students in the area.

A one-of-a-kind arts park featuring a performing arts hall, meadow, hike & bike trails and additional future phases of artist studios, small theater and more is located where the three owner cities meet (Allen, Frisco, and Plano),1/2 mile east of Custer Road on the Sam Rayburn Tollway (Hwy 121). The setting is in a rolling terrain with thousands of trees and Rowlett Creek winding through a 100+ acre site offering natural beauty and open green space where art, nature and community connect.
The 2,100 seat world-class performance hall is designed to offer families a variety of art forms including world-class performances, pop concerts, children’s shows, Broadway shows, visual art exhibits and local arts organization’s performances. Within the performance hall, additional rooms will be available for recitals, rehearsals, community events, art education, small parties and visual art exhibits.
National recognition has been brought to the project applauding the vision and leadership of the owner and member cities for collaborating to create such a significant amenity for their citizens. This project is larger in scope than any one city could create alone. Working together with the business community is the most practical and cost efficient approach. As the Arts of Collin County continues to fundraise from the private sector and the community, the Owner cities are diligently evaluating the timeline for the next phase of the project.

The Arts of Collin County (ACC) is a nationally recognized, innovative, public-private partnership to develop a 100+ acre arts park. Co-owned by the cities of Allen, Frisco and Plano, with operational support by member cities, Fairview and Melissa, the development of the arts park is supported with $57 million in bond monies, up to $3 million in Collin County Open Space Grant funds, and additional financial support from private individuals, corporations and foundations.
